Help! i've just acquired a boat with central heating which worked when the boat was surveyed but will not now. It's got a diagnostic keypad but that does not seem to work either.
The display illuminates when i press the start button but nothing further happens. The display has an illuminated 'P' with a / through it - is this a clue to whats wrong?

Most eberspacher problems are caused by a lack of volts. If the battery is low, the machine refuses to work.

However, I would also be looking at the control panel, as it may be set up for a specific programme that needs to be cancelled before the manual switch on will work.

I think you have a mini timer this is about 2" square with a small screen and two buttons.
The right hand button has some wavy (heatwave?) lines.
Simple pressing that should start the heater. I can send the instructions if you confirm the type of timer or describe it.

Only just touch the "on" button (a prolonged press doesn't work on mine!) also as well as a low battery,over-voltage via some shorepower battery chargers prevents starting.
