I have an old system and have fitted a recent unit to it and now the air has a "smell" to it, is it possible that the air ducting has degraded ? or could it be something else ( there is no smell at the heater itself when I take the hose off) I guess it could be something in the lockers where the ducting passes through?.
Has anyone had a similar problem.
Regards and thanks in anticipation

My system stank to high heavan when I first turned it on. The air ducting has an oily film on the inside, and the smell is this residue being burnt off. Turn the system on full heat for half an hour or more in a well ventilated boat, let it cool and ventilate, and then see if the smell has gone.
