Ebersbacher installation advice

Hi all,
My very old Ebersbasher is no longer repairable and has been removed from the boat. I have now been advised that although the old one was situated in the engine room with its own ‘chimney’, this is no longer acceptable practice as the exhaust has to go out horizontally (ie through the transom for example).
The cost of resituating a new one is very high and I am wondering if anyone has any bright alternatives? Would this be the case for all makes of heater?
Any advice would be very welcome.

All the main stream heaters work on the basis of the same principle.

Sticking an exhaust outlet in a boat isn't a major issue. In my personal opinion, don't be tempted by the Chinese "heaters".

Get a new Planar for less than the cost of repairing the Eber. Simple to swap; identical fittings

Can't see any problem with the exhaust on the transom.
