I always find that good photo's and an honest description do the trick.

Take a look at some of the other ads for a similar thing, see how many bids they have had and how many people have looked at the page.

You can also search for items that have already sold!

You'll get a feel for what ads you like and dislike.

The only thing you'll be upagainst is that if you have not sold before you will have a low feedback rating which some people are wary of. But if you encourage people to get in touch with any questions they'll realise you are an honest guy.

I echo what JimBouy says and just sold mine yesterday.

Only thing I would say is its not a great time a year to sell an outboard, not exactly high on peoples priority at the moment.

Therefore if you wait until Spring/Start Season you would get a much better price.

I would also advocate using Paypal to receive the dosh, its much simpler (although you pay a small commission) and you know you are getting paid before they show up.

Good luck.

Dave - by far the best place to sell an outboard is http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk I have had many successes here. The site is free, just try and get a digi piccy if you can. Mind you I could have sold my old Merc 90 12 times over (on at £1100) without the piccy.
