eBay raggie rescued from Guernsey rocks

The boat was refloated and towed into St Peter Port harbour by the Harbour Authority workboat Sarnia on Monday.
I passed close by at about 3:30 pm on my way to the QE II marina after launching, and saw flotation bags being attached. Conditions were good for the job.

Report in a newspaper suggests he may have a bit of work to do on his return ,apparently rang in to say he was "sick" to explain absence !

Well to be fair , if I ran my boat aground on those rocks in the dark at 0100 , I'd be feeling 'sick' too , certainly wouldnt be ready for work @ 0830 the following day

To be fair, a maiden voyage for a new owner and the first few hours are probably the riskiest for any craft (ref. Titanic). You are of course supposed to check and service everything but some things like the sounder for example is difficult to verify working.

According to one paper, the skipper was going to take the boat to Poole the same day.....

That explains why he was moving @ 0100 hours, clear the cil for an early 24 hour access start but wouldnt it take 26 hours + in that boat , I think he might have been late for work anyway , especially as he would have to wait for HM customs to call and do the VAT paperwork on importation.
