Now until recently I would have goon to Bel and the Dragon however I seem to remember its faded (comments on here) Does anyone have any recomendations as I may well be going to lunch there tomorrow. Cant afford to go to the Fat Duck much as I would love to try it!

Maliks gets my vote.
Indian, not over spicy. Traditional Brit Indian stuff is in an apology box at the end of the menu. The rest of it is subtly spiced, well presented, quality food.

Although I have not eaten there yet myself, The White Oak is supposed to be very good. It's the sister pub of the Green Oak in Windsor and I have eaten there and thought it was good value for money and decent food.

Went to the Bel earlier this year, was spot on! They were due to have a refurb and to partly pay for it they were reducing staff wages, stupid idea when it didn't even look as though they needed it and finding and looking after good staff is instrumental in the hospitality trade. Just hope it is still good...

At Present its still closed for refurb
you would have thought that they would have moved heaven and earth to get it open before Easter to get the trade.
