Cant talk about the costs today, as I bought mine some time ago.
I was happy with the behind mast system. although I fitted a small winch to enable me to use the inhaul/outhaul under more control
I was happy with the vertical battens - they provided a much better shape than I have seen in some behind mast systems
I was not happy with the cut of the mainsail, and bitterly regretted that purchase. It was cut far too high at the clew and significantly affected the sail area as well as creating some problems when furling the main. If I was doing it again, I would get the main made by Arun with vertical battens.
However, if your boom is high enough to avoid problems, I would consider an in-boom system such as profurl, with full length horizontal battens.
We've got an Easy Reef behind mast furling system with a Maxi Roach mainsail on our Seawolf 26. Occasionally it has snagged when being pulled out but never when being pulled in which is probably more important. Effortless and stepless reefing is a great benefit. Main can be wound in at almost any angle to the wind. No more balancing on the coach roof in a large swell trying to put in a reef. 5-6 years ago it cost around £1500 + vat. The shape looks ok to me but I'm no expert in these finer points.
