Has anyone come across "easy to adjust" life jackets?

Problem with most jackets - we have Crewsavers + Baltics for visitors, all with harness - is that they're a pain to adjust for different people and, if the **** hits the fan, it would be much easier if anyone could grab any jacket, put it on and adjust it quickly.

I'll be replacing our personal ones with Spinlock deckvests but looking around for 4 others as well, without harness, for the dinghy. Don't want to carry 4 buoyancy aids all the time, they take up too much space.

If I have friends/visitors on board I issue them with a L/J and they adjust to suit - they then hang on to them for all the time on board. Usually done ashore before getting in the dinghy. Marked 1, 2, etc

I entirely agree.
In the lower price range, the design has been static for years. With climbing gear you get all sorts of reliable, quickly adjustable webbing fittings.
I hope a manufacturer is reading this....there is a fortune to be made here!!!!

I agree that it's a slow and sometimes painful procedure to adjust the straps on most models. I have reservations about quick adjustment devices, although I haven't seen any yet - so really I'm not in a position to condemn them. But I agree that the process of setting up lifejackets for individuals and then they take ownership for the duration of the trip is a good practice. I wouldn't want to go for my jacket and find someone else wearing it as the water level rises!

Having said that, When I pull on my waterproofs it only takes seconds, but readjusting the lifejacket to suit can take five minutes of donning, doffing and fiddling. It's always easier to get someone else to make the adjustment for you.

Rob.
