Easter Weekend.

I was bringing the boat down to my residential mooring which is in Limehouse.

In 28 years to the month of living on boats I have still not ventured further down the River than Limehouse.

Did think about doing so but the upper reaches tend to be too pleasant.

Ah, sorry. I thought you had recently migrated to the Medway, I must be thinking of someone else.
I agree about the upper reaches, and spend most of my time there, but occasionally I yearn for a change and a little more excitement ?

@Parabordi moved from Thames to Medway quite recently.
I have a boat in London and a boat on the upper Thames as well.

As for excitement it appears to me that a trip on open water in a motor boat might be rather boring as there is not much scenery. Perhaps better with one of those boats with a sticking up pole and a flappy piece of canvas on it.

Never tried one of those contraptions myself but it seems rather more "exciting" and cleverly they are designed to get to places without needing to burn any oil.

I still prefer the upper Thames preferably in a small electric canoe or similar.

Ah, Parabordi it was, yes. ?

“As for excitement it appears to me that a trip on open water in a motor boat might be rather boring as there is not much scenery.” My wife keeps telling me the same ?

Electric canoe? Now there’s an idea!?
We have a couple of those cheap inflatable ones, which one has to paddle. You know, the ones where the inflated floor splits along its seams leaving one feeling rather damp and deflated. ?

My SIL. bought a cheapo inflateable Lidl/Aldi one..
What could go wrong. ?
First trip stabbed a hole in it..
A pain to inflate, virtually impossible to get enough air in it, to get it rigid.
Virtually impossible to keep the thing in straight line.
About as much use as a chocolate teapot.
Was in the skip few weeks later. :)

Sadly it’s one of those things you have to invest a semi decent amount of money in.

Supermarket bags last longer ;) that said I’ve seen a lot of people get afloat over lockdown using them.

That’s not a bad thing.
