sorry last one didnt work??

To keep the crew (sorry,Family)happy i am going to take them over to Paris for the Easter break. I am intending to drive over and leave the car at a hotel whilst sight seeing . Can anyone recomend a budget hotel? The more i save the more i can "invest"in the boat.

Thanks
Regards

Once stayed at a Novotel at Pont de Sevres whichis just across the bridge from the end of one of the metro lines and on the tram route which joins up with some of the RER lines. Two big plusses. Cheap, for Paris. Secure underground car park. Plus, if you're nervous about Paris traffic, very close to a peripherique exit, so not too much jousting getting there.

Check out Mercure, Ibis or Novotel sites for hotels near to b'd d' peripherique. Many have parking. I know there are two Mercure near Porte de Versailles. I'll buzz our office and ask for any special knowledge. Sybarite will know too.

If Miss Trish has a problem contact me with a pm. Careful,mMy December listing may contain seasonal prices.

As far as driving is concerned I feel much less at ease in the UK because I consider that in general English drivers are much less predictable.....

Sybarite , Do you mean that the English might crash into you and the French will crash into you ./forums/images/icons/smile.gif
These days in any city the traffic is horrific, more so if you dont know your way around. like me.
Thanks again for the help.

From memory this was recommended by another forumite who highly recommended it. Remember though that Easter is a busy time in Paris so check the reservation position.

Have a good time.

Restaurants

Don't know if you know "La Coupole" in Montparnasse, but it is an experience not to be missed.

Good food, excellent atmosphere, and if you have any family member interested in art they will be impressed.

Won't say too much, but when you arrive you'll be offered a drink at the bar. Normally I'd avoid that (overpriced etc..) but don't - and I'm not going to tell you why!
