Deck could do with patches of paint by the shrouds and there's bit of a kink in the starboard side of the pushpit that was there when I got her 4 years ago. That's about all I can think of wrong.

I beleive that boat once belonged to a chap called Robert Jones who was president of the Countess owners assc , does she still have tan sails ? , center cockpit ketch would be my choice too .

Coincidence that the designers name is same as your surveyor !

She is a nice boat. I looked at her a few weeks back with a mate of mine. He has decided to buy a bigger boat (nearer 40ft) but he has looked a good few boats and said that she was one of the best he had looked at. Good Luck.

Ian Anderson did the survey last week and I'd highly recommend him. He got there at 7.30 so that he could use the low light to sight along the hull and was quite happy to spend the day with the seller and buyer, answering stupid questions. I've never heard of such a thorough survey, including the engine.

She 'passed', BTW, so I bought her.

Now to sell White Magic.

Congrats on yr new purchase , just in case u wernt aware the COA , have a book called "The Countess Story " and there's a full page pic of "Saebryht" in there plus a pic of my own good ship

I'm not sure we'll be keeping her anywhere.

The intention is to launch in April and take a couple weeks at a time heading west. We'll end up where we end up for the winter, then maybe head south and see how it goes.
