East Coast surveyor recommendations ?

Martin Evans and Peter Davies are definitely "the daddies" along this coast, both with a massive reputation in the profession. Consequently they are usually very busy, though you may be lucky at this time of year and given the general economic conditions.

If neither are available in the timeframe (14 days is usual) and you are buying through Fox's at Ipswich, you won't go too far wrong with any surveyor on their list. There are one or two, however, whose reports I find difficult to gain information from (no logical progression). So ring around, get a feel for their experience and ask for a sample survey: then you can assess for thoroughness, ease of reading, whether it comes swathed in disclaimers, and so forth.
