In a thread on Imray/UKHO charts, there is some comment about the state of play regarding East Coast Sailing. The situation is that no, it's not dead, but it is on life support. As Tiller Girl stated, time has been a real problem. Garth has taken on the editorship of Anglia Afloat - which is not likely to provide the kind of material ECS did, because it has to cover a far wider area and in a different manner, but is totally time consuming - Roger is busy with consultancy work, but is still up for the occasional article for ECS, Dick is busy with some curious obsession called 'sailing' and Colin is hoping to re-emerge at the end of July, ready for a bit of sailing and some serious work on ECS. The plan is for a revamp of the website where news, new gear, new books and so on will be featured, together with occasional downloadable (PDF) articles designed with the presentation and layout that has made the ECS magazine popular. It does not seem possible to produce a regular magazine, because it is reliant on a lot of freely contributed articles - and thanks are due to all those who have provided material - and it simply takes too long (10 solid days each month) to edit, design and produce. Anyone wanting to contribute articles will be welcomed - and there are some features in the pipeline that will be worth waiting for. Anyone wanting to pay for some advertisements on the website will also be welcomed! Pleas visit the website frequently for items such as news and sign on for either an email telling you that a new articles is ready to be downloaded or follow on Twitter and a little blue birdy will announce them. Sorry for the length of explanation (hope it passes the YBW censors) and sorry too for the long silence from and about ECS.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to update all regarding E.C.S. Hopefully many of us can contribute where possible to keep it thriving. :)
