Apart from the lovely Foxs, any recommendations for an East Coast fitter for a bow thruster. We can't always rely on Sailorman being there to spring us off

Seriously, Holly says it's a must have for 2012.

Althorne marine based at North Fambridge fitted one to a boat nr mine at Bradwell , I saw their van and asked them to service my stern gland if they could fit it in , which they did .

I don't have a contact number but a quick google should reveal all .

A lot of boatyards do them (inc SYH) - so it's down to costs & who you like.

A question.

Will you have a plain hole, a hole with a flare at the leading edge or a hole with radiused edges? All perform differently (apparently).

I know you said apart from Foxs but we had them fit our tube and thruster unit when we got the boat in 2006.
They used a Side Power one which is the same as was/is fitted to Oysters.
We did the rest of the work as ours is hydraulic so we don't get one squirt and then wait for the battery to recharge or cool down just when we need it.
Can't fault the work on the tube, unit fit, eyebrows, etc.

No criticism of Foxs, but wanted alternative quotes as theirs was £3500; that may be the best anyway, but it's a big chunk of money!

I think he's the guy who has just fitted a bowthruster to a Najad (Helena) at Bridgemarsh, which is sitting close to the crane. It's a very tidy job.
