Engine went in today at last!:) Both batteries on the boat knackered

Any suggestions for reasonable battery suppliers locally? One is a car sized (engine battery I guess) and will have to be the same size due to the fixed battery box, and the other is the larger house battery.
Thanks
Patrick

Perhaps I am going against the flow here by saying that I have always bought my service batteries from caravan shops, they seemed to be far cheaper than elsewhere and appear to last just as long. The two I have now, both 110Ah 'leisure' batteries, are 5 and 6 years old and still going strong. One of them, I clearly remember, cost £45. I can't remember the last time I had to top them up, it certainly wasn't this year. I don't leave the boat plugged in when not in use. The charging system includes a smart regulator. And I run a fridge 24x7 when we're cruising. And no it's not a mobo.

I did this when I had my previous boat , the batt space was less restricting on space and I could use a bigger batt , caravan shops are cheaper for other things to like in-line water filters , gas hose , lights etc , also I get my gas from there still ....

Totman crescent, Brook road industrial estate, Rayleigh weir have a good supplier of second hand and new guaranteed batteries. Cheap, and so far have had no problems with their second hand ones.

Bear in mind that you may like to consider different batteries for different purposes.

House batteries are rated by Amp Hours (Ah).

Engine starting batteries are rated in Cold Cranking Amps (CCA).

You can calculate the engine battery size requirement with this handy widget:
