For a man I've not met, I find Bethune (isn't that a gas?) very annoying:

James Bond should also be careful not to blow things up, lest he get on the wrong side of the health and safety executive, but that's not what Bond's about and everybody knows it.

However, Earthrace claims to have environmental credentials, despite not actually using biofuels (poor people's food) for the whole of the last trip, and in any case pursuing a record 2 weeks longer than the record for sailing.

I agree entirely.

I love the insistence that earthrace will have a net zero carbon footprint.
Firstly I doubt that a lot, are they considering the fuel burnt to deliver their biofuel to the back end of beyond? And then you can't tell me that the impact is less than:
a - not going
b - The lovely french bloke who just smashed Ellen's record without so much as a generator on board!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this project is NOT environmentally friendly, biofuels are NOT the answer and earthrace really makes my blood boil with their sanctimonious preaching to others whilst running bloody huge diesel engines for weeks on end and not even delivering cargo!

Arrange these three words in any order:

Earthrace

Please

Don't

I wish they'd shut the feck up and crawl back under their stone.
