My son's on board in the straits and there was a rumble and ripples in the water about 15:00, confirmed shortly after by a call from Beaumaris.
Wait for that tsunami.

'Twas a Eurofighter going supersonic over the Irish Sea
[/ QUOTE ] Near Pentraeth on Anglesey, about 4 Nm from Bangor, I heard a boom and a rumble, but there was no noticeable earth tremor. Wondered whether someone was blasting, but could have been a sonic boom.
Sitting in my office yesterday in Bangor around 15.00 I heard a loud boom ~ apparently caused by two Eurofighters going supersonic over the Irish Sea ; but no tremors felt !
It was only just audible. It might have rattled windows in Amlwch, 8 nm North, but where I was, sweeping up sawdust in the barn with only the chatter of swallows to disturbing the perfect stillness, it was little more than a faint thud followed by a few even fainter thuds. Interesting that it could produce ripples on the water in the Menai Strait.
