When we bought the Evasion 32 in November it has been vandalised, and some of the kit stolen from the boat. The Garmin GPS transponder was still on the pushpit, but no sign of a GPS system. I invested in a Garmin 152. I gave away the transponder
Today SWMBO threw out some aged spray dodgers, and found hidden underneath a Garmin 230 GPSmap, which when plugged into the 152 cables works perfectly. There is no manual, so it is difficult to understand.
Anybody tell me what the 230 does, and if it is significantly better than the 152 - certainly the display is 3 times the size for a start

If you go onto the Garmin website and search for your 230 you'll find all the answers there and you'll be able to download a copy of the manual.
It looks as if you've got a nice piece of kit there!

Good find!

You can download an owner's manual for the 230 from here. 230 is a GPS/chartplotter, using proprietary G-Charts (which are no longer supported). Even if you just use it as a GPS, the larger screen may well be a benefit.
