there is a lot of contention about the shows at the mo, it would be nice to see both work and I have said my bit before about this.
Give every one a chance, every one starts small at some time. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I think it looks interesting precisely because I don't know half the exhibitors. I know what the Sunseeker stand looks like - and the Fairline and all the other deeply boring same design boats (not that I wish to be controversial in any way). I'll probably go to EC just out of a vague interest.
and that's from someone who lives within 15 mins of Excel......
Looked through the list, no major boat or engine manufacturers. Shame, I used to enjoy the EC boat show, will never go to Excel again and now really can't see much point in going to this one.
I'm amazed by the number of exhibitors they have got! There may not be any Boat Manufacturers on the list but there are cos like Marina Marbella who I presume will be showing boats.
Good to see Fletcher Boats and Westline on the list.
The list is in the name of the company exhibiting. A lot of brands are represented by companies who's names do not immediatly tell you the brand, unlike ours.
For example:
Powerboats Ltd - Prinz Yachts (I beleive the 54 will be there)
Marina Marbella - Searay
Abersoch land & sea - Cranchi
Boat Quays - Mustang, Regal, FourWinns
Cardiff Bay Boat Sales - Maxum
Dickies International - Beneteau
Prosser Marine - Cruisers Yachts, Maxum, NB Marine, Bayliner
South Coast Power Boats - Regal, Grew, Southcoast RIBS & Aquaflight
Tarquin Boat Company - Trader Yachts o)
Val Wyatt Marine - Interboat, Marco, Success Yachts
West Quay Marine - Cobia Boats
Plus brand that seem to struggle to get in or get space at ExCel:
Lamberti Yachts - Small Motor Boats - new brand
Pearl Motor Yachts
RIVA yachts
These are just the MoBo's, there seem to be a fair few Yachts coming as well, certainly more than the handful at ExCel last year.
For us ExCel just wan't an option - the only space I was offered was one boat on the water outside, and that cost was nearly 3 times the cost of having both boats at EC.
It is true that fairline, Sunseeker and Princess are not attending, but then you have already seen their 2008 stands at ExCel if you went last year.
I have no idea if EC will succeed or not, but us as a new company, on a limited budget it is worth a punt. If nothing else it means we can invite our customers to a nice warm venue, give them a bit of plonk and let the see the boats. Who knows, we may even speak to a few people who have never heard of us (hard to imagine I know /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif).
