any early reports from anyone who has been yet (doesn't it open today).
We will probably pop down on sunday as the weather isn't looking good and its only a short tube ride for us (hoping there might be some bargains to be had in the chandlers by going on the last day towards closing time.)

Will MBM be doing a big article and report on the show like they do for the southampton / excell shows? I get the feeling from there magazine and websites that they aren't very supportive / excited about it, or is that just me.

The only reason I make that point is that I don't remember there being any mention of the earls court event in this months magazine (I could be wrong, but there certainaly isn't a big preview article). - where as in this months magazine you mention that coming up in next months magazine is a big preview of the Excel boat show.

I just get the impression that your support lies with the excel show, rather then trying to promote earls court.

You will have to ask the editor, if the show is relevant to their readers then they will report on it. There has been a couple of stories online today about it.

"if the show is relevant to their readers then they will report on it."

its a UK boat show based in england
you are a boat magazine for sale in the Uk

surely therefore it is relevant for your readers!
Sorry for being a cynic - but I get the feeling that the preview reports / show reviews for LIBS / SIBS are therefore paid for advertisments??

I am afraid you could not be further from the truth with regards to "buying" editorial and it has been discussed here many times.

I am not going to comment on what editorial do or do not put in their magazines but all I will say is they need something to write about.

It is a UK show but it it is not the only UK show.

As I said there have been a couple of stories about what has gone on today at the show.

Your best bet is to go and have a look for your self and then comment further on it.

I will be there Friday PM if you want to buy me a beer!

I went on the first day and I couldn't have been more dissapointed as I went twice last year and just loved the whole experience. This year I was around in one hour pretty much and its los that special appeal that it had last year. Shame!

I had been planning on going today, but on the basis of feedback here and elsewhere have decided to put the £50 odd it'd cost me towards the trip to Excel. I went to EC last year one evening when I was working not far away and was disappointed, and this year the show is smaller.... It's a shame as Excel is not fantastic either, but I do know I'll be able to fill my day there.
