EA to have access to your phone and email!

This is just another click bait article written by one of many speculating low grade journalists like you will find on the Graun's website. I wouldn't be overly concerned, the EA doesn't have the capability to do its full regulatory job never mind check what websites I've been looking at and unless it starts a major recruitment drive, doesn't have the intelligence staff to do it either.

UK citizens are, supposedly, the most surveilled on the planet so what difference another bit of poor legislation?

Just having a mobile phone switched on in your pocket allows the "authorities" to know where it is. If you have nothing to hide you have nothing to worry about.

Actually, thinking about it , if all inland craft had to have AIS fitted as a licence condition it would half help checking ahead if any space at Hampton Court and earn the EA a few quid catching speed and wash merchants.

and useful if for some reason you wanted to avoid other forumites as well. :)
