E80 Classic

The screen on old old E80 Classic suddenly went dark when I powered up this morning. The Raymarine Splash Screen looks to be more or less the same brightness as it has always been but as soon as the chart loads the screen darkens to the point of being unreadable despite the screen brightness turned up to the max. I know it is past it’s sell by but is it fixable?

Thanks very much for the link. My slight concern is that if it is failed backlight, why is the Splash Screen illuminated as brightly as it is…..?

Could you have inadvertently set it to night mode?

Just tried turning on my E80 in night mode. It seems to match the symptoms you are experiencing.

Bingo! Yes it was in night mode.

If you shine a torch on the screen you can just make out the detail.
