I've got a S/S 6mm Solent stay with a Pelican hook on the bottom. It's a right pain to deploy/stow n the weather when I want to use it. Either with blade jib or Storm jib (hanks)

I'm thinking of changing to an 8mm Dyneema Dux stay with a 1200 kg swg tackle on the bottom run to a winch for tensioning. Anyone got any experience with such a setup to share?

Not exactly the same but.
I have jib with Dyneema luff set on a free flying furler (Facnor FX 2500).
The halyard is 1:2 going to 1:28 halyard winch / clutch on the coachroof.
We get a good tension and shape.

Here is a nice article about the setup you are describing
