anyone got one of those old fashioned Dymo label embossers? My clutches were all labelled with these things and I've just changed everything around and the labels were a bit too old to make the move. They are not that expensive, but it feels a bit daft to buy one just to make 8 x 2 inch labels!

Anyone got one I can borrow, or want to offer to make some labels for me?:) Will reimburse costs of course!

I have one that produces printed labels (flat not embossed). I have tapes to do black letters on white or t'other way round. These may fade in a few years but only if the sun comes out :)

PM me if any use and I'll run you some off.

Lisa,
I have a Brother P Touch 1000 on board FC.
It has black tape with white lettering, different fonts and sizes.
Its what my clutches are labelled with, which are in their 2nd season and not looking too bad.

My sometimes-crew always complains about the seven clutches leading to one coachroof-mounted winch (from left to right - tops'l downhaul, topping lift, stays'l halliard, throat halliard, tops'l halliard, jib halliard, peak halliard) that don't have labels. My smug reply is that I still have a good enough memory to know what each does and, anyway, I couldn't see the the labels at night.
Does anyone do luminous labels?

I've got one as well if Foxs area is more useful to anyone.
We put them on the clutches when we rerigged in 2007 and they are still good. The only problem was the one we labelled wrongly for the staysail halyard, which we didn't see until the other week when we used it for the first time in ages

I see a mini-business opportunity emerging!

I'll turn down Roger's offer and take up Jim's as delivery will be easier :D

Jim - please can I have:

Reef 1
Reef 2
Reef 3
Kicker
Outhaul
Topping Lift
Main Halyard
Headsail
Spinnaker

Not sure how that can happen as I'm pretty sure that I have only 8 clutches! one of these MUST be at the mast, but I can't remember which. Maybe I do have 10 clutches as I'm also fairly sure I have a spare one. hmmm. must get to know my boat better!

Cheers dude. mwah.
