I have just come back from a lovely yacht delivery from Hamble to Ramsgate. The proud new owner of Aeolus 2 told me that he bought the boat having followed Keep Turning Left for the last few years... The owner wanted me to come along as he doesn't know how to sail and has only ever owned small powerboats before - he was keen to learn along the way and really enjoyed the trip!

He was inspired by Dylan's films and decided to take the leap into the world of sail. Good on him and good on Dylan for the inspiration! It doesn't stop there though; I almost certainly wouldn't be enjoying filming and editing whilst on the water if it wasn't for Dylan. Here is my latest effort, a short film taken during the delivery of a Hunter 232 from Hamble to Ramsgate (in case it isn't obvious, I really did like the tiller!).

I hope you enjoy the film!

Pete

I must say Dylan inspired me to start taking video on the boat and I'm glad I did as it's great to look back on.

While we are talking about him in the third party I think it's nice that his grandchildren and beyond will probably get real idea of what he was like in a way that still photography would never be available to reveal.

I wonder what they will think of him if they turn out to Motorboatists :D

Dylan Winter should be shot for encouraging people to take up sailing & contributing towards our already overcrowded waterways & natural places.Sorry but I say it like it is. (though personally I enjoy his films & the remote places he visits).

We didn't even attempt to go into Brighton! Although I think our 3ft keel would have probably just about cleared the silt (on high water!).

It was a straight run from Hamble to Dover and then just round the corner to Ramsgate.

Ah! Any further sign/info of/about the proposed new development at Dover?
