We are finalising bedding. Having trialled various sizes of duvet we are ready to purchase. Have decided against the fitted type (we have a V berth). The regular shaped duvet workes just fine. We have been using a 4.5 tog from the house. Before ordering up one for the boat I thought I'd ask the forum what weight the duvet users amongst us would recommend? The 4.5 tog has been fine the last 3 weeks but would probably be a little thin for colder evenings, which we can get even at this time of year. Also, concerned about October if we are lucky enough to have a decent autumn.

depends if you feel the cold really. I've always bought the duvets that velcro/pop together in different togs. with this you are very flexible. either having both together or just on there own for the warmer nights

We have two that swmbo made that are very thick one side and light the other with spare blankets to adjust if needed.Really easy to make if you have a sewing machine. Just normal duvets cut to shape and re- sewn & we put zips on ours.

Just use one 13.5 tog from asda - £9.99 and vary the number and amount of limbs stuck outside to vary the body temp. In high summer just use the cover.

I find that on a cold february night at anchor with no heat aboard other than the hurricane lamp the Asda 13.5 keeps me as warm as toast. I also hear other people think its freezing cold with their Eberwotsits running full blast.

Pardon me while I comb my arms
