Had a great sail down to Hurst and back on Saturday- counted well over 30 dutch flagged vessels, both sailing and motor. wondered if this was due to recent winds or decline in Pound verus Euro making UK cheaper this year for them.
Stopped over in Campers - quite impressed and found out where the old resturant owner has relocated to in Gosport - Maxims still good food and prices.
Dryed out in the Sun on Sunday back to Chi superb spinny practicing day.

Dutch holidays tend to start earlier than UK, they have wisely realised that weather is mostly better in July than August. This year the weather has been superb, and with a plentiful supply of easterly winds, too. I meet many Dutch sailors who love UK with passion, but bemoan the fact that berthing there is so horrendously expensive. So maybe your second point is equally true.

There were about that number crowding into Limehouse a couple of weeks back.. some nice yachts and many motorboats.. a couple of them were huge.

The yachts were crusing in company and had come here via Belgium, then dashed over here, up Thames and they all left after about 3 days.
