We will shortly be embarking on a cruise of the Dutch Inland Waterways using the ANWB charts. I understand that the ANWB organisation used to produce an English translation sheet for the various chart symbols. Is this still available. I haven't been able to locate one and the ANWB offices thought it was no longer produced. Can anyone advise of it's existence and where I could obtain one from. Thanks

We are based in Holland, never heard of an English 'translation' but don't have any problem with the symbols, altho' we don't speak Dutch. Don't forget the obligatory Wateralmanak - cheaper if bought there. Tot ziens!

Me too, but you only have to be asked once and I do know of people who have!!. The Dutch are a lovely, laid back people but they do take a stern view of those who deliberately flout their law. Seems a bit prattish not to comply when doing so only costs around €20, especially when the Almanack doesn't even have to be the current year's edition.
