Hi folks, the wiper arm on my Broom Ocean 38 recently broke. Its a pantograph wiper with a main drive arm and an idler. It appears that the idler seized and broke the arm off. So on further investigation I discovered that the starboard side mechanism frame was really badly corroded and falling apart. I tried the manufacturer Hepworth and while they were initially very responsive, they haven’t replied to my emails since.
So I’m looking at alternatives. As usual, anything boat related is mad money. I’ve discovered a system that might work.
it’s made by a company called Durite and they seem to make them for trucks and buses. The only issue is that the hole centres are 60mm instead of the 50mm on the old ones.
They offer a switched and unswitched versions. Does anyone know which one I require? Or what’s the difference

Did the arm snap in the middle? This happened to ours and was able to fix it with two rivets. It was on the main/more substantial arm and the two pieces separated.

Mine snapped where it connects to the idler shaft fitting. It’s definitely time for a new one on the starboard side. The whole frame holding the motor and mechanism was really badly rusted. The port side was fine.
