Hi all,

I have terrible trouble with duo props rotting (in about 12 months they start to go powdery). I don't leave shore power plugged in except when away for a few days on the boat in the summer. I am in the upper hamble (mix salt and fresh water) near some steel house boats and a rather large steel rail bridge. I have added extra anodes on the top of the drives but they don't seem to rot at all? The prop anodes do rot. Any ideas on how to reduce the damage to the props. Would hanging an anode off the back connected to the engines help?
Thanks in advance

My Azi was moored at the Cabin, and suffered very rapid anode erosion on the shafts and trim tabs. I could not work out if it was the railway bridge or rapid current, or both.

That's terrible ... I just replaced the three bladed A6's after 10 years on Flower Power.

In your situation, I'd look to install active protection of some kind like the MerCathode system.
