Just about to change our batteries for lead carbon agm. Our solar controller does not have a specific setting for agm but does allow user defined parameters. I'm happy with boost and float settings but I understand that agm batteries don't like equalisation. There is no setting to disable equalisation but I can set the voltage. Should I set this to float, boost or 0?

I think it might be worth buying a decent solar reg. Why risk your new batteries for the sake of decent 3 stage charging. A Victron mppt would do the trick and give you all the data on your phone

Thanks for the reply. It is a decent 3 stage charger from Epever. It enables me to set parameters for each stage of charging individually. The battery datasheet gives me the figure for boost and float but (obviously) not equalise.
I prefer Epever to Victron as they publish full details of their interface.

I'm curious that equalisation should be an automatic stage of charging, surely its a manually selected option ?
There are a number of predefined battery types. The closest match to my battery datasheet includes an equalisation cycle. The easiest way to set up for my new batteries is to accept a predefined type and turn off equalisation.
