The 240V sockets on my Dufour 36 have all died. All the other 240v buts are working ok.

The shore power comes aboard and goes into an RCD then to the main 240V switch panel which has an 240V isolator switch then 4 individual circuits ( sockets, battery charger, water heater and another one I have forgotten). I have 240V all the way to the outlet of the socket switch (where there are a single neutral and positive wire) but there are no volts at any of the three sockets which also only have single pairs. I reckon there must be a fuse and or connection somewhere between the 240v socket switch and the sockets but I can't find it. Anyone got an idea where the fuse/connection might be?

cheers for any help

The Rcd is definately on the live and neutral and the switches after the RCD are all double pole switching the live and neutral. There is an earth on the sockets but only single live and neutral wires so I guess the sockets are spurs rather than on a ring. The switches after the RCD are only switches not MCB's. Do you think there are some MCB's hiding somewhere?

chers fir your help

i would expect those switches are probably MCB`s. can you see around the back of the panel. Has the RCD dropped out, have you tried resetting it
have you googled the problem

It's quite unlikely that there are other fuses or breakers hiding in between the CU and the sockets. If you're certain that there is power coming out of the relevant MCB, then there must be a break in the cable. Can you follow it along through the various lockers and other spaces it runs through?

I think there is a second fuse box for the mains. I vaguely remember having to replace a fuse several years ago. Its behind the switch panel and behind a plastic cover. I need to look on board to be more specific about its location.

Thanks for the hint. I will have a look for plastic cover. The cable routes are all a mare to follow. I can't even get to the cabling for the first socket which is only 6 inches below the switchboard! I guess they must cable up before they but they woodwork into the boat when they are built.
