Just thought I would post to say have received my Dubarry boots from being repaired as the grey spongy stuff (in between the upper and sole) was disintegrating due to age, the leather upper was still intact but somewhat scruffy, despite conditioning them were mainly scuffed on the toe area.

I initially contacted them with photos of the offending areas on both boots and they replied within the hour stating they have a repair service.
Once received the boots are assessed by their Quality Control Team and then sent to Ireland for repair.
There is a standard fee of £65.00 chargeable for the service, this includes new sole units, liners and return postage and packaging to a UK address.

It took 2 weeks for the repair and must say having just received my boots they are as good as new (and are beautifully polished.)

So if you have a problem/query rather than paying up for a new pair, might be an idea to see if Dubarry can assist on any other matter regarding their boots.

Very impressed and full credit to their Customer Service dept for a very friendly service throughout.

That's good to hear, I was thinking of sending my boots off as they are getting old and the sole is hardened and not so grippy, I also have a pair of dubarry shoes that need a new sole. I have looked on the Dubarry site but can only find an address in Ireland but your post suggests a UK address (before they send to Ireland for repair).

Do you have contact details?

Would be interesting to know how much replacement shoe soles cost. Must admit with past deckies, they have a recycled lifespan
1. Used on Boat only
2. Walk about on land, when they are on their last legs then
3. Gardening shoes
4. Finally painting shoes
5. then into the dustbin

"Ignore, I was on the Ireland site, went to .com and found the address in Oxfordshire. DOH! "

You were quicker to post that I was, still others might be interested in the contact details though.

Mine have always followed a similar path but these shoes are still in too-good condition (and comfortable) to subject them to Level 3 or beyond. Maybe I'm getting tight in my old age...

I had exactly the same experience and cannot fault their older boots or their customer service.

Unfortunately the newer style boots cannot be re soled which is a shame. Some accountant obviously 'improved' the design.

I wonder if Altberg could be persuaded to start making repairable yotty boots?
