Years ago, maybe three,I sent my sailing boots for resoling to Dubarry Ireland. They were returned with undersized soles and soon the leather at the tip started lifting.I emailed them at the time and they asked me to return the boots for inspection. For some reason I forgot to do it and left them in a cupboard until recently when I contacted them back about having them repaired. They were sent to Dubarry and within two months they were back with the correct soles at no cost.I was fully prepared to pay because I'd delayed the whole thing for so long.Way to go.

So they screwed up the repair the first time. Then they did it again and sent them back "within two months", and you think that's good? I don't think that's great service at all.

I think it's great because not having complained at the time they still did the repair three years later. The first screw up was ,of course a screw up,but they behaved responsibly,I think. It took two months because I'm in Portugal and it takes time to get there and back.

I think they would like you all to send stuff for repair to keep a few folk employed at the Ballinasloe, Co. Galway factory site, just the shop still open a few years back, but worth a rummage if nearby as they have clothing items too.

+ one on Dubarry's service. I had an old pair which I had decided to put back into service, but when I wore them for a few hours the material between the uppers and the sole started to disintegrate. I contacted their Service dept and they told me to send them back and they would have a look. The verdict was that they could be repaired at a cost of 60 Euro, which seemed reasonable to me, in comparison to the price of a new pair. They took a few weeks to arrive back, but that was during the off-season, so no problem. They were almost as new, with no leaks, and the metal Dubarry logos, which had corroded away, had been replaced. I'd say definitely full marks to the Dube-meisters!

mm might explain why after resoling mine became very tight , thought they would wear in , they didnt , bought someHL Tps instead , much more comfortable

Some people are hard to please!

I sent my very ancient Dubarry boots back last spring and for a very reasonable price I now have new soles, new liners and new badges and I am hoping that they will last me another ten or fifteen years.

This makes them very cheap in my book.

Previously I got through at least one pair of boots per year...
