My current boots have finally developed a leak. Having a high instep and fat legs I decided to research and see if anyone catered for an oddball like myself. Lots of adverts for Dubarry Shamrock Extra Fit. Over 20 calls later nobody stocks them and nobody can give dates when they might get a pair. I have emailed Dubarry twice and had no reply. I like their shoes and on my 9th pair and hence looking at them first.

Anybody got any recommendations for a comfortable pair of boots for someone with a high instep and fat legs?

I have a dinghy on an outhaul and the boots regularly get wet.

We have our boat on a mooring .. Water goes in and out .. Keeps your feet clean .. Not expensive .. Very NONE SLIP even when wet .. Come in a variety of colours .. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif .. Other versions but these are the original CROCS ..

I have a pair of Dubarry Ultima boots, they were a little tight when new as i too have highish insteps but I am glad I stuck with them as they now fit perfectly. I guess they stretched a little after their first soaking. It appears the Ultima is also offered in extra fit as well, but I have no idea if they are readily available or not. Might be worth a try.

I have "well developed calf muscles" and I can get my Quaysiders off without using using my hands (or teeth). Comfortable and no way they'd come off by accident.

Chose them for that very ability after looking and Musto and Dubarry

Your garden looks too good, you are not sailing enough.......

Since we started sailing we have converted our outdoor space into a wildlife garden, the cat loves it but we have to run out a piece of string when going to the garage just so we can find our way back! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

After going shopping with a friend who had surprisingly big calf muscles, she ended up buying 3/4 length Henry Lloyd boots

You could try the Helly Welly, which are stretchy, use the tabs inside to pull them on, and kicke them off with the "scraper" on the heel of each boot
