Dual station Raymarine Radar/Plotter

I bought a Raymarine RL70 CRC radar/plotter at LBS and would like to mount it so I have the ability to swap display positions between the nav station and the cockpit. I was wondering if any one has done this and how successful it proved? I would imagine the radar cable and the Seatalk cables would need splicing and I will need two brackets but maybe there are also some other problems that I have missed.

All the advice I had, from GreenhamRegis and from a Dutch RayMarine agent was that the colour display will not work on deck in sunlight. If you get the 70 radar display, (Non colour), it will be fine on deck. I am told it will also pick up the chart plotter mode via seatalk, so you do not need a second full chart plotter.

I have a 70 CRC at the chart table and a 70 colour repeater in the cockpit. The cockpit display is removable and lives down below when not in use. It is postioned under the sprayhood and works reasonably well in direct sunlight, but is positioned such that direct sunlight seldom affects the screen.

When considering dual positions, one position has to be designated radar master, and it is to this position that the radar scanner is linked. I do not think that it is possible to use one display in either of two positions. The chartplotter will probably work, but I am not sure about the radar.
