One minor point, you say you "aquired" the radio, legally I trust. Out of curiosity where did you "aquire" it from. If a dealer then take it back, if from Ebay or the likes I would be a little suspicious - I believe a fair number of "hot" items appear there from time to time. It seems strange that you aquired one of these radios in the UK as from reading the manual they are made for the stateside market.

Is this a case of "CAVEAT EMPTOR"

By owning the set you are committing an offence.
US model radio's are not aprroved over here at all.
They are not CE marked, they have a number of channel missing, the class of DSC is wrong.
They are either class F or SC101 neither any good for EU use.

Simple answer you have to buy you radio in the UK, from UK dealers.
If via internet then again they must be from UK companies.

That way you can't get it wrong.

Hope that helps.

Mike

Not sure what you mean by "radio mic" could you explain?

Some of our fixed sets have speaker/mic as standard (the audio comes out of the fist mic as well as the loud speaker)
We also have a dual station option for 2 of them.

On 2 of our hand helds they have the option of a speaker/mic.

Let me know, I will see if we have something to meet your needs.
