When contacting another known vessel via a known MMSI the channels offered on my ICOM are, if I remember correctly 6,8,69,77. Why 69 and not 72? there does not appear to be any method of altering this choice.

there should be in the menu , a place to choose they channels you want to use. 72 is the normal one used.

The choices should be 6, 8, 72 & 77 because they are designated as the primary intership channels. A DSC radio provides this choice as it is correctly forcing the user to use the allocated channels.

there are quite a few integrated ones!
I am surprised if it is selecting from 69 when set for UK operation defaults.
