Advice needed can anyone tell me do I need a DSC Antenna I am now going to fit a DSC radio to my boat and not sure if I need to fit that type of antenna or will a normal VHF antenna do the job, I have seen DSC antenna's on the net and not sure what way to go.
Thank you

Paul

Its bit like buying a Digital anything, same old tat,new higher price.
Your radio will work just fine with any VHF marine aerial.
The DSC is just a bit of extra info sent when you key the mic.
All of those fancy arm and a leg white marine aerials are just bits of copper wire using the glassfibre tube to hold the wire upright, the really posh ones might have a 10p capacitor in there as well.
Still want to pay a fortune for a bit of wire and a white plastic tube...hell some people even think having two looks neat. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
