When the Coast Guard gives out a Pan Pan or other emergency a very loud alarm sounds on DSC VHF's which needs to be manually cancelled. The CG messages is also very loud while this is going on. Thankfully the alarm eventually stops.
An alarm doesn't "go off", it "sounds" (or "rings"). When it "goes off", it's finished sounding and is silent.
Means nothing. It's a logical falsehoodHey Elton what does it mean if "someone goes off on one" then ?![]()
