We usally dry out for a scrub and check in Kames Bay Millport. But this w/e forecast is not looking good for this location. May need some shelter from the South and West so looking for alternative places/ideas.

So far Killchatton Bay, Lamlash NW corner, or possibly Brodick seem the best ideas.

We are based at Troon

Anyone out there with any thoughts or experience?

Kerrycroy or Ascog on the East side of Bute? Haven't ever used them to dry out, but might be suitable. If it were me I'd wait for favourable weather, and do it somewhere I know the bottom is level and firm. Must it be this weekend?

EDIT:
This is where I go:

St Ninians Bay, Bute. Obviously unsuitable if any amount of wind from SE to SW is forecast!

Thanks for the input.
St Ninians looks ideal in the right weather and seems to be quite flat and firm.
I would not dry out with out a look at low water first, and there are limited dates suitable on the clyde with decent range and LW around lunchtime!!
Spring tides LW is usally about 0800/2000 which is not ideal, as you either have to take the ground or refloat in the dark.
So trying to get all your ducks in a row with weather / tide and other commitments is difficult!
