I have a long keeled Beneteau ketch (1979) which has an upstand with a wood capping instead of a toe rail. The upstand is drilled each side amidships presumably to fit drying out legs. I have looked at commercially available legs but beyond my budget. Can anyone suggest a reference source for a design i could use.

Hi and welcome to the forums. I can't answer your actual question but I'm having a thought which, while I may possibly be wrong, I feel it worth mentioning. Beaching legs are normally fitted to the topsides BELOW deck level and only with substantial reinforcing behind the hull. You don't mention whether you have reinforcing in place, but I have only seen legs attached above deck level to steel boats with a substantial bulwark. If a boat settles on the bottom awkardly or not level it could give rise to huge loading in an area of the boat without much substance above it. It's just a thought - hope you don't mind my mentioning it. No intention to teach you how to suck eggs!!
