So, whilst I haven’t been in the ‘shoot ‘em down’ camp, I’ve generally been able to take or leave drones: nice vids, but all a bit of a faff and disappointing to see your memories crashing into the briny yet again.

And yet... today I ordered a Blade 720. I figured that, at the price of a bar of the artisan soap (handcrafted by Highgrove’s finest soapwranglers) that the benjenbav household seems to favour, I couldn’t really go wrong.

Now I’m really looking forward to its arrival...

Morning M, long time no speak. Does this mean (in the grand spirit of man-maths) that you'll be buying a boat in order to have something to film with your new drone? :D

LOL... maybe, but need to start by blagging a ride with someone else. I think I’ve almost forgotten what a boat looks like. ?

Almost good to go. YODEL delivery scheduled and I have acquired a "SPEAK TO ME, GOOSE" T-shirt. Pretty sure that's all the prep I need. :encouragement:

How is it going with your purchase? The price is right for a disposable drone as I can see me crashing in the sea on recovery.
Well... it arrived today. Slower delivery than I'd expected.

Not helped by the box being opened by my daughter and much of the contents put into the recycle bin.

Quality felt good.

Instructions seemed to have been written by Yoda on a bad day. (Words as want you rearrange...)

Anyway, as my chromosomal makeup is XY I really wasn't going to bother much with the written stuff. I added 3x AA batteries to the controller and just toggled away until some combination resulted in the rotors spinning up.

Houston, we have lift off. Pitch, yaw, roll seemed reasonably intuitive although it's a bit odd turning left to go right when the thing is facing you.

Did a few flights without camera. Got a bit tangled in an agapanthus which I will have to explain away as a freak storm.

And there ended day one. Me laughing like a maniac. Yes, it was worth £100. :encouragement:
