Driving To Turkey via Greece - Goods Transport Available

On 20th March I will be driving from UK to my yacht in Marmaris, Turkey and returning some 10 days later. Whilst I have limited space on the outbound leg if you wish to have anything transported out there and you think I can be of assistance PM me.
On the return leg I will have more space available. Naturally I will need to ensure I know exactly what it is I am carrying for you!!

Driving to Turkey

Just as a matter of interest, which way are you driving? Specifically are you catching a ferry from Italy (ancona) to Igoumenitsa or driving around the top?

I am doing the same a week after you and I have always used the ferry. Just thought someone may be using a different path.

Regards
Graham

I did look into these routes but the schedules did not fit in with the time I have available. If you have to wait say 5 hrs for a ferry x2, thats a lot of miles that you could have travelled! Also the overall cost was more.
I'll post in early April when I get back.

Drive to Turkey

The best road in Europe is the E90 across the top of Greece. No tolls and it is a 6 hour blast to Turkey from Igoumenitsa.

The issue in the end is customs and border control on the way into to Turkey and Ipsala is a know for me.

I like the idea of going from Venice as you then miss the major traffic around Milan on the run into Ancona. I will check it out. Thanks

We did the Patras to Ancona ferry last week and did the motorway. Had no problem with Milan, the only problem was the toll €28+ for the 300k . . ouch!
