My twin helm boat has a Simrad WP30 wheel pilot outside in the cockpit.
This means I need to make adjustments there.
How do I use the old NMEA it comes with to interface to a laptop or my Garmin 152 via serial/usb at the wheelhouse helm?
Ideally, drop a pin in Memory Map/Open plotter and use GOTO.
The manual does list a remote control but I guess all long gone?
No solution for the manual clutch needed.

You can connect NMEA0183 to the wheelpilot, and it will steer to a waypoint or steer to wind. But you have to press the NAV button on the wheelpilot to get it to do this - and you have to press the NAV button again at every waypoint.

The handheld remote has limited functionality and I don't think it includes a NAV button.

Good point, it does not. It would do though, if I could source one. Gives the same functionality of the basic commands on the WP
