Drive Shaft seals needed advice please

Aquamatic outboard drive 280/280T Been told that seals need replacing as water in bell housing of engine This caused corrosion in starter motor which needs attention. Moored at Shepperton - can anyone recommend engineer for boating newbies

It sounds more like the bellows have failed, this also means the bearings in the belhousing are suspect due to being in water which is an engine out job if they are (as I suspect they will be) damaged.

I would also be concerned that the daily water intake could increase brining its own problems which could be far worse, I think I would want to get the boat ashore asap to check it out.

Do it now the longer you leave it the more it is likely to cost you are already talking 500-1k
