Anyone used teflon or graphite impregnated stuffing in their through hull? Was it successful? Does anyone over here sell it (I know West Marine does). Thanks

I use the synthetic "flax" packing impregnated with teflon. It works very well, and I change it every 500 hours, although it doesn't really need it. This is just prventive maintenance. It would likely last twice that time.

I have used West's dripless stuffing and it has worked pretty well. This year I put one ring of Teflon Impregnated stuffing at the rear of the stuffing box (behind the dripless section) and it has worked very well. No drips and very cool. When I purchased the West dripless stufing I did an extensive search for it in the UK but could not find a supplier, so had to pay the large cost of bringing it to Uk from USA, about £70.
