Will we, in NI, be able to bring EU quantities of drink to Belfast via Irish ferry to Europe? Not much of a drinker but just wondering about the possible rise of smuggling to Stranraer.

The pound will surely soar in value when Johnson and his chums take us off on this new adventure. Then it will be cheap. Dido for Governor of the Bank of England?

Now that NI seems to be no longer a part of the UK, i.e. pet passports, EHIC , it's anybody's guess what the rules on booze are.

Did not know about EHIC (maybe more important than drink). Saw this:

Preparations are continuing to ensure that a scheme will be in place to address any loss of access to EHIC Card entitlements by residents of Northern Ireland. This scheme will allow eligible residents of Northern Ireland to seek reimbursement from the Irish State for the cost of necessary healthcare while on a temporary stay in another EU/EEA Member State (excluding Ireland) or Switzerland, should it be required from 1 January 2021
