Actually 2 1/2 should do it, because the limits for boats are going to be the same as cars + the only people that can breathalyse the skipper are the police, so if the CG arrive in their rib and notice the skipper holding a beer they may "assume" that he could be over the limit but the only way they can be sure is to get him tested ashore.
BTW - I'm against DD when in control of a boat.
