My ship's systems are getting complicated!

I need a drawing package that is simple and preferably electrically orientated. I used to use QCAD which I bought but with a new Mac, I would like something simpler and more intuitive.

Any suggestions? Free would be good (not just a "free" trial).

On Mac, OmniGraffle is undoubtedly the thing to go for. It's one of those apps that makes it difficult to switch platform once you've done a few drawings in it, as nothing else is as good. It's not electrical focused, more universal but works fine for electrical stuff too. Not free, but you're on Mac, so that's what you've bought into :)

If you want free, run Linux and Inkscape (the Mac version of that is unfortunately not very well ported yet).

Can you use any of the free drawing packages online on a Mac?

I see Macs as the work of the devil so actually don't know.

Another vote for Omnigraffle, it's what I use for all "diagrammatic" graphics and also all my various custom-engraved panels. I originally got it bundled with my Powerbook way back when, but had to pay for a newer version when Rosetta support for PowerPC binaries finally went away. No longer having the trusty Omnigraffle at my disposal was not an option for me :)
